Our Popular Florida springs Dive trip NEXT TRIP: Feb 29th, March 1st, 2nd 2008 Join the dive shop as we head down to the florida springs. These natural sink holes are spring fed and offer gin clear visability. The Florida springs are calm bodies of water with depths ranging from 15-65 ft. These trips usualy depart on Friday and return on Sunday night. 3 days of diving and 2 night lodging . The water temp in the springs is a constant 72 degrees year round. So if its cold here. You will love the springs. One of our dives will be Kings Spring where the mantees are hanging out. These gentle creatures were on the endangered list and are now being closely monitered. This is a map of the area of florida in which we travel to. Although we will be visting many places, they are all in the same area.
Friday the departure day : 5:30-6am departure. We arrive at our first dive destination at 3pm. Our first stop is either Ginnie springs or Devils Den. We will do one dive and depart For the hotel. Ginnie Springs is a great camping and springs resort located near High Springs Florida. This resort is home to several springs. Cave and cavern training can be done here as well. Openwater students will not be allowed in any cavern or cave. We will do one dive here or Devils Den then depart for the hotel.   
Devil's Den This is also a popular stop on the way south. Devil's Den is another Camping resort . This resort is located in Williston Florida. A short stone and wood stairway leads down to the water and a platform. Student will get a certification here on one of many platforms underneath the water. We will do one dive here or Ginnie springs and head to the hotel a short drive away.  
Saturday We wake up eat breakfast gear up and head to Rainbow River State Park. This park is home to a head spring that flows down a river. Its a fun and easy drift dive. We will load up on a pontoon boat and head up river where we will be dropped off and drift back down. Dive depths are 5-25 ft and range greatly. Vis is near 100 feet. This is no effort diving at its best. just glide down the river and have fun. Student will stop and make a dive in one deep spot at 25 ft to do skills.  
Lunch time Then we head to either Blue Grotto or Devils Den depending on if we stoped there before. Blue Grotto is a fun Spring. They also have a large spring area. We can do our deep dive certifications at this spring. If you are looking to get an advanced dive in this is the place we will do it along the trip. You can get 90 ft at the bottom of the spring area. This spring has a air Dome at 30 ft wher you can take your mask off and talk to another diver. It also has a nice swim through rock formation. 
Optional Night dive at Crystal River. We don the glow sticks and swim a short distance from the hotel to a spring named catfish hole. Diving by the moonlight. Those divers that do not wish to do this dive can go to the rooms for a hot bath and get ready for supper. This dive is at the hotel. Some divers choose to hop in the hot tub. Its a cool dive!!! Crystal River Manatee Dive....SUNDAY THis is a very popular dive. We drive pontoon boats out to the springs from the hotel property to several sites. We go to Kings spring and dive. Manatee are abundant here. They are also protected in safe area but will apporach the boats. King Spring has an awseome swim thorugh rock formation. Lots of fish too!!! Manatee will come up to the side of the boat. Scuba is not the ideal way to see Manatee. Snorkel is. After your dive get your good snorkel out and get close to the manatee Manatee are scared away with scuba gear and the bubbbles. Snorkel gear is a must if you would like to get up close. We will also venture to Three sisters spring for another chance encounter with manatee.
